Police verification in Bangladesh is compulsory to prove that you don’t have any criminal history or you have never been convicted, which is essential when you are applying for a government job or traveling abroad. In simple words, Police verification gives you a clean chit that you have good character and won’t be a threat for society. However, the process of police verification can be complicated if you are applying for the first time and aren’t familiar with the official application procedure.

What is Police Verification Bd?

A police verification certificate is the documental proof of no criminal record which the Bangladeshi Police Department issues after checking the complete background history of the requesting applicant. 

Police Verification Registration Process

Bangladesh Police Verification for Foreigners

The application procedure for international police verification bd is same the only difference is that you have to use your Passport or Visa documents at the time of physical police verification.

Stages of Police Verification Bd

Police verification in Bangladesh has many stages. You can check police clearance status to know at which stage your application is. The following are the stages of police verification bd:

Stage1: Submitted

Your application has been successfully submitted.

Time: As soon as you apply.

Stage2: Under Verification

The application is under the verification process.

Time: At this stage, the police officer in charge of your nearest police station will call you within 1-2 days.

Stage3: Payment Received

Police clearance challan payment confirmed.

Time: It will take 1 day.

Stage4: Ready for Print

The application is ready to print.

Time: It will take 1 day.

Stage5: Certificate Printed

The certificate has been printed.

Time: It will take 1 day.

Stage6: Signed by OC

Signed by OC (Officer-in-Charge).

Time: It will take 1 day.

Stage7: Signed by DC/SP

Signed by Deputy Commissioner or Superintendent of Police.

Time: It will take 1-2 days.

Stage8: MOFA Verification

 Verification by Ministry of External Affairs.

Time: It will take 2-3 days.

Stage9: Ready for Delivery

The certificate is ready for collection.

Time: You will get your police clearance verification certificate immediately after going to the office of the Superintendent of Police or SP office. Also carry the application form, which you received on the first day after applying.

Stage10: Delivered

This means you have received your police clearance certificate delivery.

Time: It takes no time.

Documents Verification at Local Police Station

Suppose the application is completed and police clearance payment is made. In that case, the police station you are applying under will call you within 1-2 days, or you can go to your police station yourself and submit photocopies of your attested documents. If you don’t get a call, print copies of the documents you uploaded at the time of application and go to the police station with the documents in hand. Please submit it to the officer or ASI who is responsible for police clearance. After verification, he will forward the application to the next stage.

Note: If you can’t go for physical document verification you can send someone on your behalf with authorization letter signed by you.

Physical Verification by Police Officer

After document verification, a police officer from your local police station will visit your house for Police clearance certificate verification and will ask around about you to make sure that you are not involved in any criminal activity or breaking any law that makes you a threat to society.

Note: While applying for PPC enter your current address. Because if you enter the wrong address, then physical police verification won’t be possible, and your application will be rejected.  

Original/ Fake Police Verification Check

The police clearance certificate has a QR code on the front. If you download any QR CODE SCANNER APP from the Play Store and scan the code with Neta, if it shows the correct information, then the police clearance is original.
